Traverse beams

Traverse beams are designed to move cargos through their attachment to crane equipment at several points. Traverse beams are the most sought-after devices in lifting large-size cargos and easily deformable articles, such as those with cavities.

Types of traverse beams

The selection of a traverse beam depends on cargo shape, dimensions and weight. The types of traverse beams are as follows:

• lifting traverse beams: designed to lift long loads weighing 1.6-32 t, ensure attachment in the center or at two points;
• pipe-type traverse beams: similar to lifting ones, but allow slinging only at two points and have a smaller lifting capacity of up to 26 tons;
• H-shaped traverse beams: connection takes place at four points (weight of 1.6-32 tons);
• T-shaped traverse beams: have a repositioning device for fastening with a crane, suitable for goods with the unbalanced center of gravity;
• spreaders: rectangular frames designed to lift containers, vehicles, etc.;
• magnetic traverse beams: these are divided into lifting or frame-type models to which magnetic grips are attached for working with metal materials and articles.
